Magazine analysis 1

This is a magazine advert for the Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes bowl. This is a very direct and striking advert. The thing that instantly grabs the attention of the reader is the Foo Fighters name in bold lettering to firstly show who will be playing. The next important feature is the dates of the show. These are also highlighted in bright red with the white lettering to symbolise correlation between the Foo Fighters and the dates they are playing. There is also a guitar which is obviously symbolic of rock and roll. The guitar is also used here as it is the footman’s Dave Grohls guitar. The support acts are listed in a different colour so that the different bands from the Foo Fighters are easily seen. There are also logos at the top of the poster of the past Foo Fighters albums. This is again something else to make this poster and everything to do with the band instantly recognisable. Located on the bottom right there is a link to the Foo Fighters website, again this is important because it is a link to tickets and a link to a profile about the band. The tickets are also used in the same font that the Foo Fighters name is. This is to highlight importance of the tickets. Anything that links to the main importance of the advert will be listed on the poster in that font and colour as a house style.
