For the few avid readers I attract I am back!
Uni had taken over but I am back on the eve of my 18th birthday! So how are you all?
I thought i'd kick off with a bit of a suprise for me! Whilst I was away the Reading Festival lineup was annouced and to what seems to be only to me; it was fairly good! But yuno how it is, not everyones cup of tea. However an interesting fact! No its not Offspring, No its not Muse, No its not My Chem, Its not even Your Demise (o wait). It is a small band from the Welsh Valleys!
Enter Joy Formidable! Formed in the good old town of Mold, they started work on a new fresh wave of music. They started to make synthy, songs with heavy rhythmic guitar and a lot of focus on heavy bass focused songs. These created the amazing songs of Cradle and Austere. Each with a kick and snap to it. The way Ritzy (The lead singer) gets into songs live and studio is almost scary sometimes. She puts her own agressive yet gentle edge on it sometimes you get lured into to the safety of a song..Then get kicked out by how angry they can be.

The band recently released their lead single from "The Big Roar" (6 pound at HMV go get it!) Whirring. These by all means is one of the most refreshing and uplifting tracks I have ever heard. Being tipped by numerous sources as one of the bands to look out for in 2011/2012 I can see where the hype has come from. Dave Grohl recently tweeted The Joy Formidable as the band that have made the best rock song of 2011. Recieveing that kind of a compliment from such a huge idol is no easy feat to achieve!
The Joy Formidable are set to take over he world no question about it. Their songs are like stepping out into a breeze. Uplifting and soothing. Their live shows are no joke either recently at big weekend Whirring encourged a four minute wall of sound which resulted in a Cobain esqe finish. She basically ripped off her guitar strings causing a huge gash in her hand, followed by throwing her guitar into the audience. GRUNGE IS ALIVE.

Joy Formidable sing about Columns taking them to new heights, they dont need columns. One more album like The Big Roar and they will be at the height, or at least well on their way to being a formidable force (See what I did there?) in the music world. P.s the singer is kinda cute.
TOWZ.
